got my 40 in the body shop...now pondering the color....

Like that color quicksand that there sporting on the newer Yota trucks....but wondering what it would look like on a 40

I saw the color, thought it would be a nice fit. I saw a different color on a Toyota the other day, the dealer said it was called "Desert Storm".

I've seen that same color and considered I'd for mine. Looks like dune beige only darker I think.

Quickasand. It's available with the TRD and tow package option.

I found this on the Interweb. I believe this is the color quicksand.

I've wondered the same thing. It looks awesome on the new TRD 4Runners but I think it's too glossy for a '40. Maybe a guy could get that color in a semi gloss?

I'm sure Quicksand would look great on an FJ40.
My wife has a better eye for color than I do.
She says she likes it better than 416 Dune Beige.

Here it is on our '14 FJ Cruiser next to Dune Beige.
Sorry about the quality, the camera on my phone does a lousy job with colors.
This is Quicksand 4V6 not the earlier "Sandstorm" that looks more yellow.

My only concern with modern colors is that I expect the paint formula will only be available as base coat-clear coat.
It will look great and glossy, a higher quality deeper finish than the original single stage colors.
I just don't know if it will somehow look out of place on an old truck.

Edit to add better pictures...

You can get almost any new color in SS urethane. I recently painted my 40 in an Audi color ('14 - '17 vintage). Where you will have issues is if choosing a metallic color and wanting to do SS. My local jobber wouldn't even mix a metallic color in SS due to the potential downfalls and knowing I was a newb.
