Anyone make a tough 70 series transfer bash plate?

Today I remoulded my stock transfer and gearbox bash plate around them, I dont think i've damaged the transfer case, just ground some ribs down. What I want is to replace the stock paper thin bash plate with something substantial, like a 1/4'' plate unit. Does anyone make such a thing? Or I have to fab my own up?

cheers

fabbing is fun...
buying is just...well...what the rich do.

i would run a 1 1/4" bar from frame rail to frame rail before and after the tranny,t/case combo. then bend some 1" pipe from front to back about 1 1/2" to 2" apart simialr to a skid plate but which won't hold mud or snow... kind of like the old H1 hummer design.

1/4" plate will work too...

I used the original bash plate.
Welded some pieces of T rods on it, formed to shape.
Holds fairly well, but I don't do rock-hugging ;)

Is the tranny support still one piece? (torn off rubber?)

Here is the thing about putting a thinker plate in (speaking from experience) once you put a thinker plate in, it will still get bashed (they always seem too) and then it will be harder to pull it out, or if you take it off to straighten it, it will be harder to get back on. I would suggest you go with the other ideas of reenforcing it with tubing as suggested, that gives the best result.

Cheers,

Michael

Even if I beat the stock one back into shape and reinforced it with tube, then bent it up again wouldnt I have the same issue as if I had made a new one from plate? Still woudlnt be the easiest to bend back and make fit.

Will try and get my stock one off tonight and asses what I can do and see if I can mount it better too. Wouldnt be a waste to make a nice stong one then have a weak mount
