Looove my HDJ81 but I need an open box truck and a chev won't do, I want old school and dead simple. Been eyeing these beauties. They have the 2L and 5 speed standard in them so I'm assuming they race them quarter mile. Looks like solid leaf rear and maybe the rugged 4 runner IFS? 8" rear? Only info I can find is the smaller Hiace mini vans and such. Anyone?

In Russia we have many small Hiace trucks. 2l, 3l and 5l engines, rear 8” semi float axle, front ifs.

Basically a Hilux of a similar year with a Hiace body. There is a few reviews on youtube , although they are mainly ex Japanese fire engines.
I think these are actually a narrower version of Toyota Dyna body from the 80s and rebadged as a Hiace or Toyoace. Theya re certainly using the Dyna doors
Thye use the G52 or G55 and use the same transmission for 4wd and 2wd models.
They seem to have sold the 2L and 3L at the same time in the mid 90s, I would get the 3L

You need to get the year and model code
