I recently bought some DEPO mirrors off Amazon. When I put them on I noticed the passenger side mirror would not produce the angle of the mirror that I am accustomed too. I like my mirror set so I can see a part of the truck. I am 6'2" and I have my seat all the way back and the mirror angles all the way toward me and I still cant see the side of my truck. I bought some mirrors a couple years ago for my 1993 Cruiser and I don't remember having this problem. Those mirrors might have been Kool Vue though. These new mirrors are DEPOT and say made in Taiwan. Does anybody else have this problem? My factory mirrors gave me the angle I wanted and so did my last set of cheap mirrors. I am going to send these back and get the Kool Vue mirrors and hope they aren't the same. Any help is appreciated.

I believe my D/S mirror that I bought a couple months back is Kool Vue but I'm not sure. I can't stand it. The thing shakes and rattles around so bad I can barely see behind me. Meanwhile the P/S mirror (factory) doesn't even hint at vibrating. I should have just bought an OEM one from a wrecked cruiser for $30 more.

Yeah my Depot driver side is the same way. The mirror shakes and when you look at something with the edge of the glass it looks distorted. I would be more than happy
to spend $500 in factory mirrors if I didn't have: a mortgage, wife, kid, dog, car payment, leaky roof, bills, cruiser addiction, the list goes on...

I've never even considered this before, but is there a chance these mirrors are LHD/RHD specific? As in the range of adjustment is based on the driver's seating position, and these are RHD mirrors on your LHD truck?

Otherwise, I'd chalk it up to "should have gone with Mr. T for these".

That is a very good point! I'm going to sit in the passenger seat and see if I have the same problem with the drivers mirror. Yeah the last set of cheap mirrors didnt have this problem.

I have a depo passenger mirror that adjusts fine, maybe you got a bad one.

Here is the one I have with the part number
Depo 312-5407R3EB Black Passenger Side Power Non-Heated Mirror

I have Depot mirrors on my LX. I have limited adjustment, I see too much of the side of my truck. After 3 years both mirrors have a little shake.

6', seat adjusted all the way back, seat back is one notch back from full upright.

Also to note. On the Depot mirrors the screw to take them apart is at the hinge when you did them in. Not in the hole in the bottom like the OEM.

UPDATE:

I ended up buying a set a KOOL VUE mirrors and they are ALOT nicer. The Depo mirror's glass was super cheap and very distorted, especially around the edge of the glass. The passenger mirror had the wrong offset and made it impossible to see the passenger side of the truck. The KOOL VUE mirror has a lot better glass with no distortion. The offset of the passenger mirror is just like the original mirror. The overall quality is better with the KOOL VUE mirror too. The prices were pretty much the same $90 for the pair shipped from Amazon. I thought the mirrors would be the same, but there is actually a big difference between the two.

My Kool Vue DS vibrates something awful.

Yeah both the Depot and KOOL VUE mirrors do that. I just bought a litle peice of black foam from Home Depot and slid it between the glass and housing. Stops the shaking and doesnt look too bad since its sort of blends in with the black housing. It sucks that brand new mirrors have to do that, but my oem mirrors were shaky and the spring broke.
