anybody removed the valve on a propane tank?

I would think that they would not want to take just anything at those exchange programs or they'd be stuck with all the old style valve tanks.

I've exchanged several super old style tanks at those exchange places and the old tanks were just given to me.

whaaat? gotta try that sometime... unfortunately, the old valve is on an uncommon but very desirable size tank so probably no dice on that one.
