I saw a sweeeeet 70 series Troopy here today, with Vermont plates. Brown, LHD, black AR767s, full-length custom roof rack extending forward of the roof, diesel, lots of camping stuff and a friendly dog poking out the window.

I took pics, but I can't find the cable to get them off my phone.

Is it a 'Mudder? Gotta be.

Also: how the heck did you get that registered in the USA?

Cool,

Yuppy you live on the best island in the World.
I'm surprised that there are not hundreds of
Landcruisers from out of town over here,
sensible people drive landcruisers and sensible
people know where it's at.

shhhh.... it's a secret. ;)

No ones ever going to tell you that:rolleyes:

You underestimate the combination of my music collection, hard wooden chair, and ten feet of sturdy rope.

His name is Johan. He was staying a block away at a buddy's place here in Fernie for over a week. Meant to get some photos for you guys but... Nice guy and ready to talk cruisers. He bought the cruiser ('86) in the Yukon a few years back with 180000km now about 300000km. It's originally from Germany (lhd) with the Camper conversion. He's got the old B motor turbo'd. He's had it all over the place but wants to pick up a new one in Central America so this one is for sale. I know he's had offers over $30000 for it.

He was parked at the Canadian Tire in downtown Vic. I left a note under one of the wipers, and I was hoping to meet up with them, but I guess we passed each other on the store - I was in there for about a minute and when I came out I saw the Cruiser driving away.

Very nice truck - are they doing a world tour (or a continent tour)?

I'd upload the pics but I guess I've lost the camera cable. Hmm...

Troopy spotted on West Coast Hwy 14

I met this fellow this week - and his girlfriend/wife and their dog - at Jordan River, and again at Lizard Lake near Port Renfrew (Southern Vancouver Island). I asked how he got a 1986 Troopy registered in Vermont. His response: "Vermont is a free title state" (his friend lives there). Not sure what he means, but it obviously worked for him. He spends most of his time in Central America, and plans to buy a new troopy in Costa Rica soon.
