I'm sure you could booty fab something up if you reallly want something like that.

Just as the title says, anything like a Hurst avaliable for us?

Might want to try something like an Art Carr Gate Shifter... All the race and buggy guys use them.

I'm guessing there isn't anything already made for the LC tranny, how much booty-fab work would one of these be?

The shifter Mr. T put in my truck suits me just fine, so it never occurred to me to put in something different. I don't have a clue about how much booty fabbing would be required to put in a Hurst type shifter.

Stuck in GA might have an idea where to get one, I know he already has the dixie horn! ;)

School me, here... What the heck is the benefit of the Hurst shifter, anyway? The only thing I've seen different on them, from stock, is that they lock the shift assembly in whatever position you put it into. Have I been missing something here, all these years?

Pretty much get a standard shift out of an auto, but still be able to cruise around in auto.

You can do that now, sorta. A shifter isn't going to change how a transmission works.

I forgot about the extra HP the Hurst adds.

Ripping out the close ratio 6 speed and putting a Turbo 700R4 with Hurst shifter is the next mod for the WRX. That would be sweet! ;p

I was under the impression that the Hurst made it so the tranny couldn't shift out of the selected gear (if not, then this is what I'm wanting, any other way to achieve this?) when you do X, and worked like a normal auto when you do Y.

Honestly I'm not sure how you could accomplish this in the A440. It would probably involve the valve body though. If I'm not mistaken the A440 doesn't have any electronic control so I think this would all have to be accomplished via mechanical means (which I think means all valve body and or solenoids).

So it seems that your real question is: "How do I make the transmission stay in one gear?"
