Anti-wrap bar on 1979 SOA question (1 Viewer)

Did a search, found nothing for this year 40...

Just completed a SOA on a 1979 FJ40 and the typical anti-wrap bars don't work due to the new fuel tank location. Anyone have a suggestion on a bar from a Mud vendor, etc, besides fabbing one, which I'm happy to do.

I do not have his on my rig but no others that do and they are happy with it.

I have a 79 tub and used one similar to Paul Decker's design and its offset. Its working fine this way.

dave, do you have any pics of what you are dealing with? what type of tank are you using, man a fre type in the rear or ?

It would require you fabing, but ruff stuff specialties has some nice stuff. I will be installing mine soon and will post up some pics then. GL

In my '80 we used one from JK Customs Been happy with it no issues with the gas tank

Thanks everyone! The other thread was great, too. I called Paul Decker, he said his won't work with a 79 and up. But I'll give a shout over to JK and Solid Rock too.
