I want to install a radio antenna by drilling a hole in the roof, but I own a '94 with the one-piece headliner when cannot be dropped without ruining it. Has anyone with this headliner successfully fished antenna coax or other wires above the headliner? Or do I need to use some other method to install the antenna?

ScanStrut
Do you mean putting it on the side or rear of the vehicle? I don't think I can install a ScanStrut on the roof without dropping the headliner, right?

You don’t have to drop the whole liner, just one corner. Very easy and won’t harm anything. It only needs to go down far enough to fit your hand and some wires.

The front of the roof is a nice location for an antenna. Just remove the front interior lamp, then there will be access to the roof metal without touching the headliner. Drill the appropriate hole and install the antenna. With some patience and an electrician's guide line (whatever the name is), the cable can be routed from above through the A pillar (right side, on my case) to exit at the foot of the passenger (remove the corresponding trim board). Two hours and very easy. I did it ;)

@NLXTACY was correct. I dropped the rearmost part of the headliner and installed a ScanStrut, it worked well. I shortened the screws so they didn't stick down as far.

Finally got the antenna installed. I like the ScanStrut, would use it again.
