Hi everybody! My name is Craig. I just picked up a 2000 Land cruiser That I test drove home from California. The drive home was the most comfortable road trip ever. I love this thing!!! I stopped at the Land cruiser Heritage museum on the way home and had a great time. It was nice to chat with @cruiserdan and see all of the beautiful Cruisers.
I have had a 40, a few Tacoma's and a few built 4runner's. This is by far my favorite vehicle. I am looking forward to learning a lot from everyone and helping if I can.

Welcome! Looks to be in great shape, and if it spent its life in CA there won't be rust issues to deal with. What are your plans for it?

285’s done, steering wheel replaced and stereo installed. I plan on lifting it an inch and a half and adding bumpers. I’m going to keep it mild as it’s still my daily driver.

Are those the 285s on it in that top pic?

Welcome! that 1" extra is definitely worth it, I'd go with the 2.5" lift from the get go. You'll get it eventually anyways ;) Your milage is going to be shot anyways since 1) it's a Land Cruiser and 2) the bumpers are going to be heavy and hurt your milage anyways

275’s in the top pic. I was planning 1.5 until bumpers then switch out the springs to the 2.5. I wasn’t sure if it was too much lift for the little tires.

So I did some stuff on my truck today. I have been sitting on the suspension for a month or so dreading the torsion bars. It turns out it is really easy, so easy that when mine was done we lifted/lowered my friends truck too. I went with sway a way torsion bars, fox shocks and Dobinsons springs in the rear. I would like to thank @crikeymike for answering a million questions.

I also restored my Cross-member Damper Weight. I removed the both 14mm bolts and put it in the parts washer for an hour. I painted it a nice semi gloss black and reinstalled. I torqued the bolts to 87 ft pounds.

I will post some pics of the overall truck soon. I need to clean up some stuff and get some decent pictures.
