As per title.

This is my fj80 power steering install.

The 80 box has the same bolt pattern as the late 60, and 62 boxes. Before mid 84, the boxes had a different bolt pattern.

What’s good for to goose is good for the gander./// all roads lead to Rome.

Fj80 slip yoke

Fj80 drivers side drag link end

Ford shock towers

TLC performance smog pump eliminator

Belt for water pump to eliminator pulley - pn to follow upon purchase

4 3/4”x1/2” DOM sleeves 3” long - will trim to fit

4 12mmx1.75 pitch 105mm long grade 8 bolts with lock washers and flanged nylock nuts.

Step 1:
Box install. Remove old bits. Mock box position and mark holes to make. Clearance motor mount bracket. Clearance fender well. Drill holes using 1/2” drill bit all the way thru. Mount box temporarily to gain some satisfaction and further intel.

Note: box will be removed, outside frame rail holes will grow to 3/4” using step bit, DOM sleeves and fish plate will be installed prior to commissioning.
Fish plate requirement in
My case is to add clearance between the motor mount and steering box; added strength is extra credit.

Right on, I may end up with 80 box yet, liking the detail on record here.

Thanks for sharing. This on my winter todo list. I have all the stuff just lacking in time. I see you have a 2F in your Pig yet went with a Saginaw pump?

Sag pump is less expensive, readily available, and has more output- not that im
Planning to need it.

I did not have a 2f pump on hand, either.

This is a great thread!

I am looking forward to following your progress...

I did not know the 80 box has the same bolt pattern as the late 60/62 box.
Threads like this are what make this such a great resource.

All the characters in here that love the pigs are what makes it fun!

What are you making on the lathe?

Lathe is older than me 🤣
best I can tell, its about 83 years old. DOM between 1937 and 1939. designated Craftsman Atlas 12" x 24" screw lathe 101.07381, serial 4851-S

C-19 and work ruin the best plans. Stalled for the short term. Gotta find some ford shock towers, and then search my soul to find a way to pony up for a Jim C idler bracket.
OK Lamb any progress on this?
