Long time listener, first time caller.

I cannot seem to get my third row seats to lock into the floor. I have tried all that I can think of, but the seats still lift freely (no need to pull the release strap).

Pretty happy that on a ten year old truck, this is my biggest problem

Thanks.

Sup yo.

Does the mechanism try to close at all, is there anything blocking it etc?

Info would help.

When you mounted the seats to the frame rail, did they snap in place with a click? And do you have the black crossbar that runs from the seat latch (that's not latching) across to the frame rail properly snapped into its little u-shaped hoop?

Yup, I bet that crossbar is bent too far.. try unclicking it from the hoop, then "straighten" it a little, so it's closer to a 20-30 degree angle from straight. When they get closer to 45's the inside latch part on the bottom of the seat doesn't flip down far enough, and it needs to be perpendicular with the floor. at least that's how it is on mine..

Just commiseration here, but every time I put a 3rd seat back in, I have to mess around with it to get it to "click". And it never seems to be the same move twice. All of the above helps, plus sitting in it.

I do know that if you have the rear carpeted cargo mat on top of the floor carpet, sometimes that thickness will impede latching to the floor. I usually fasten my seat on the rail, connect the black rod and let 'er drop from vertical. Snaps in every time.

3rd Row Seats

You know, I have had that problem with my 3rd row seats not locking in. I found that by lowering them gently, mkaing sure the latches are lined up and pushing down on them gently, they latch every time. Before, I was dropping the seats a short distance thinking they would lock in, kinda like lowering the hood on the car. You might try a different technique as I did.

I've had this issue as well. Take a close look at the latch/floor hook/rod interface and you might find the latch is hitting closer to one end of that short piece of rod bolted to the floor. You can indeed fix this be slightly bending the long rod that swivels and places the latch as the seat opens. Be advised not to pry against the ends of the rod when bending it as those plastic clips can be broken.

Just jumping on the dog pile here. I'm betting the alignment of the latch to the striker is slightly off. I've never had any luck w/ those stupid black bars, so I just align them by hand and slam the seat down, and it usually goes in on the first or second try.

Thanks

I have had to bend the bars on the bottom of the seats to get the hook end to reattach. I will try changing the angle in the bar and see if that helps.
