Animated Gif files... what software are you using to make them?

    Says it all... what software are you using... I saw that I could use my corel X-3 Photo Paint to make films from slides and export to GIF but haven't tried it yet... would like to do it for more than just my Avatar.

    I have a use for it in biz that would be better / easier than making a MS PowerPoint Slide show...

    So?

    Any Freeware? I am not a PhotoShop fan... have a thing about Adobe and their buy out the competition policies... and I think that is part of the full version of PhotoShop and not Elements... correct?

    Hint: at least one of the packages mentioned in this thread is open source and available for Mac and Linux. Oh yeah... that windows thing too.
