Well, after months of lurking and learning on Mud and combing the ads, I finally found my 80! :bounce: She's a 97 Anniversary Edition with about 139k, bone stock with lockers. Inherited some service records, and it appears to have been well-maintained. Fluids are current, but I suppose birfs and PHH will be in order soon. So far all I've done is clean it up, change the oil to Pennzoil high-mileage, put HIR lights in it, and start ordering parts. Have ordered the Slee wiring and aux harnesses , CDL switch, aux battery tray, George's dome lights, and a few other odds and ends, and just got my FSM and EWD in the mail. Thanks to the generosity of jditom, I have a new used hitch for it as well (old one has some cancer on it so off it must come).
Now it'll start getting expensive... figure lift, front bumper, and tires will be the next order of business when the bank account recovers.
Thank you all for providing this great resource - I've learned a ton (and burned a lot of hours) lurking here, and look forward to continuing the obsession...
Now a little porn...

97 anniversary

Me Likey....good find.

Nice 80. That picture looks familiar to one I saw on Craigslist or Autotrader. Any chance that rig is from Oregon? Congratulations!

Yep, it was on Oregon Craigslist - they guy selling it bought it back in ND when his car broke down on vacation, then put it up for sale when he got back to Oregon. Drove it back in November, but he wanted too much $$$ for it. He called me a couple months later when he couldn't get what he wanted for it. Lucky me!

sweet rig, and welcome:flipoff2:

Very tidy cruiser mate. Factory lockers.....gotta be happy with that! Welcome to the addiction of the mighty 80. :D

Sweet Ride! Welcome!

Hey - I'm in Portland and on the hunt for a similar spec truck - do you mind me asking what you paid for it ?

Just trying to get a handle on pricing - I saw a '97 40th with lockers on craigslist a few weeks back mailed the guy and he was pretty firm at $12,500 for the rig.

That seemed high to me.

Congrats on the new truck - hopefully I'll join the club this year :flipoff2:

[Actually thinking about it - it was a "Collectors Edition" not a 40th - if anyone knows the difference please feel free to fill me in ;) ]
