Amsoil Ea oil filter

Have you guys seen the cutaway of this filter? I was picking up a couple NAPA Golds today and saw the cut away they had there. That thing is built like a brick s#@t house. Thick filter material and backed up with a fine wire mesh. Many folds and a ton of material in there. Heavy metal cap and retaining spring and a very stout interior rubber gasket seal. Cost was $15.00 and the help didn't want to tell where to get them. Any ideas where to get these? As a side note the Fram was really sad to look at. The worst of the 6 they had there. Full of cardboard and flimsy filtering material.

Memory is the first thing to go with age. Yes it was that filter Ea. Pretty well built but really expensive. Will edit the title line. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, $15 is on the spendy side ...... but I dont think peeps around here will have a hard time paying that if they are the best. We need to see some cut-aways and/or send one to Cary for analysis.

I don’t know if Amsoil oil filters are the “best” but they are among the best oil filters out there. The EAO filters are just an improvement Amsoil has come up with – the forerunner was the SDF line. I think the SDF filtered out something like 92% of the oil impurities 15 micron and larger – while the EAO is suppose to be in the range of 98% for the same size particles. PureOne oil filters IMHO are great filters at a great price ($4.98 on sale) and if you cut them in half, you’ll be able to see for yourself – the only difference may be that Amsoil would probably be better for extended drains, as it’s slightly larger. What do I run? SDF-15s
