ammeter and ignition hookup (1 Viewer)

As you all know, the ignition on a 75 FJ40 (and maybe any year) won't work if it isn't connected to the ammeter. Is it possible to bypass this? I am replacing gauges with aftermarket and won't have an ammeter in the new cluster.

Connect the wires together White to White/blue.

Thanks. I just wasn't sure if that would cause a short or some other problem
