So new ambi door hinges are NLA from Toyota. Mine have some play in them as I am sure others do as well. Is there a good way to refurbish these to remove up/down play? Bushings, etc, thanks mudders...

D bushings would be my go to solution to fix them permanently... although I don’t have Ambulance doors. Or find some good used ones that have been sitting on a shelf for 20+ years now.
I believe I read that SMG was working on selling those..
I bought brass bushings from @SouthBostonFJ40 ... not sure whether he’s still selling them.
