ever tried to light diesel on fire? never seemed to work for me :(

Just a little FYI I saw wasn't mentioned on this post, you should put a little oil around the new oil filter gasket, helps it seal and release easier when you want to take it off...

You shouldn't ever need to use one of those wrenches, the main problem is people he-man the filters on and going to take it off becomes a chore!

good work though man, looks like you have a nice clean machine there, congrats....

Plain diesel is difficult to set on fire. Put it on a cloth (or your hair :D ) and it's a different story.....

I just turn a filter till the gasket makes contact. Then about half a turn extra. Start engine (after oil is filled) and check for leaks. If present . A quarter or half a turn extra and check again. Never overtighten.

Have to agree there.

Yep I made sure there was oil around the gasket :)

I made a real mess in the garage but I got it done.

I change it every 7500 kms (4000 miles)

So then my next oil change is around 177,500km..

Is there anything else I should change around that time? I know the diff. fluids are supposed to be done every once in a while...

Well, oil change for me is (as said) every 7500 k's,
Up till now everything was on dino-oil. I changed diff's and gearbox/transfer every 15000 k's, sometimes 20000k's ( I do a lot of towing)
Switching to full synthetic for gearbox/transfer and increasing to standard 20000, maybe 25000k's. (will look at future changes)

I replace brake/clutch fluids every 2 years. Coolant every 4 years.

Add washer-fluid when necessary :D :D

Wow, oil change every 6k? Recommended 5k?

Are those based off Dino oils ?

I'm running 15W40 Chevron Delo 400

I have seen some differences between intervals. Personally, 7500 is what I do and I use the blue Rotella. The site has more info on other maintenance, which you asked for. Just use your good sense.

Will do :)

Thanks again for all the help
