Alternator Wiring.

In a haste I did not determine the three wires in my harness to the alternator. I will post the wiring issue. Looking for wire layout from regulator on my 1987 Diesel. Thanks

View attachment 2934252It is a normal alternator that has a three prong plug plus the normal wire that is bolted on the side.

put from what I learned recently

1. (Yellow) to your cluster gauge charge indicator/warning light
2. (Black-Yellow) to your ignition
3. (White) through a fusible link to your battery

there is 'normal' internal regulated alternators and 'normal' external regulators. usually pre 1984 had the external reg.

anyways hard to tell colour from pic, but blue wire is neutral goes to dash charge warning light, white wire ammeter and red wire to starter switch/ignition I believe.
