Gunna put a stereo in this summer...thinking I need a new alternator in my 74 as the lights dim on occassion and the horn sounds sick when the lights are on (at times)...belt is good....anywayz,

How many amp alternator should I get with existing stock wiring, etc.? I noticed CCOT's got some 50amp'rs...should I, and hook up stereo to the old AM radio wiring...?

search. this has been addressed many times. Also you can look in the tech sections. tons of options, just comes down to personnal preference.

You may want to check out your voltage regulator too. Many times they cause the kind of symptoms that you're experiencing.
