Well its been 3 weeks and I have not been able to get an Alternator for my LC because 4 wheel auto is having a hell of a time getting some in. They told me that I can jimmy rig an Externally regulated alternator to my 2H (which currently has an Internal reg) ((all 24v stuff))

?Has anyone done this?

Pictures or diagrams would be very much appreciated.

This thing is my DD and I need her back on the road.

Thank You

Andrew

What's wrong with the old alternator? I forget.

Why cannot the old one be repaired?

Have you tried the wet coast companies. Such as GandS or Others?

Alternator & Starter Depot Ltd. Calgary

Funksolid, I have heard good things of:

Alternator & Starter Deopt Ltd.

I am not in any way affiliated and have not personally used their services. It is however the first place I would go to see if the alternator or starter in my BJ4x could be rebuilt. If it can, it'll likely be cheaper than buying "new." In the past in a different country, I have had motors rebuilt and you'd be amazed at what these shops are capable of.

A colleague of mine went to aforementioned shop and got the best price in town on an alternator, his words, not mine. Some of the RMLCA folks have recommended this shop also.

If you go this route, please post outcome.
