I bought my truck from a dude that is a Toyota/Audi technician. He did the research and put this Bosch oil filter on. It’s 6.5” tall and 3.5” in diameter. Pretty good size. Part #074 115 561. ECS tuning has them for under $15. I notice my oil on the dipstick stays clean for a long time and has no effects on my pressure reading.

I also use the 15600-41010 Toyota filters for you purists.🙂

so every time you change the filter you need to pull the the coil lead....no way i would run the engine with no oil pressure for as long as it would take to fill that.

Hi, Just replace with Fram ph8. They are cheap ,esp. if you replace them every 3000 miles like I do. Mike

The Toyota oil filter at the dealer works great and it’s not expensive. The original Toyota filters were large cans and there doesn’t seem to have been a wave of engine failures due to filling the filter after oil change. There are a lot of oil filter threads on the forum and some of the more recent ones have been pointing to some wix filter failures that scrapped engines.

Napa 1773 - probably identical in spec to the WIX 51773 posted above...
