Is anyone aware of a list of Aisin/Seiki or Denso parts used on the 1FZ engine and in the bay--or on the whole vehicle?

I'm assuming you are referring to their offerings of aftermarket parts. Aisin and Denso both have easy to use online aftermarket parts catalogs. Many parts are available through rockauto. As part of the Toyota group, they both make many many components for Toyota motor. Look up the company profiles for an idea of who produces what. Perhaps a better way to think about it is Aisin and Denso ARE Toyota to us consumers. However they technically are not. (Toyota owns stake in each company look up Keiretsu ) . And through whatever agreement with Toyota motor and their own discretion can chose to offer parts through their aftermarket channels at different levels of similarity to the parts they supply to Toyota

Any idea if their aftermarket parts are the same as their oem parts--or are there qualitative differences there?

I don't know the definitive answer to that. Certain parts make little sense for them to change anything about. Like cast aluminum parts and water pumps. I could imagine sensors might be different. There's people on here who know way more about this stuff.

When my starter jammed up many years ago I went to a Denso distributor in Melb and had two options for a starter motor
A - Denso starter in a Denso box $174
B - Denso starter with Toyota label on it in a Toyota Parts box - $400+

Both were identical once out of the box just the stick on label was different

you can guess which one I got

Although I wasn’t there, I’d wager that they weren’t actually identical. The $175 Denso in the Denso box was remanufactured, whereas the +$400 Denso in the Toyota box was new.

Maybe, my experience is Toyota part numbers that end in "-84" are their own remanufactured.
In my project I used Toyota reman alternator and starter

DENSO Q: If you wanted to get the most bang for your buck, just buying Denso parts, which are the most important/critical components you'd want to have? I'm assuming Denso is superior to other aftermarket. 95 FZJ here. Thanks for any help!

Don't they make all the sensors as well? Who makes the oil pump, or is that Aisin Seiki?
