removal. i give up, how does it come off. threads/set screw like the fan switch, or pressed on???

i dont see any set screws, so i assume threaded without set screw, but i cant get it to turn.

maybe press on???
 
i believe the whole thing comes out in one piece.look for nut behind dash then disconnect it at the heater duct and air inlet door .good luck

i think he wants to take the knob of the shaft. not the shaft/cable out of the dash. if the later is true, just a 17mm wrench on the back side of the dash
