Air Flow Meter And Air Straightener Mods

Hi, I’m new here so not too sure how it all works but hopefully someone has come across this before because hours of googling and I’ve come up with nothing. Our son has just bought a “pod style, high air glow air filter” for his 1993, 1FZ-FE, this is the one with an air flow meter (not air mass meter - this is in 94 and after models). Now problem is we want an air straightener for it but can’t seem to find one that is recommended for an air flow meter. Has anyone fitted and air straightener to this model without adding a turbo. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Some pics below outline differences between new (up to and including the 1993 engine) and the old (1994 and on engine).

93-94 (and some 95) have a VAF.

Explain why you want to alter the air cleaner? The Toyota one is excellent. Not pod style filter can come close. You can even purchase a Toyota washable air filter.
