My 81 need a charge. The original AC works but it needs an R12 charge. It seems like I can still find cans or R12 but I've never used it. Any advice and how -to tips? An how much would I need?

The Body FSM has a very large section about everything related to the AC. It goes into great detail how to do everything.

There are many Youtube vids on how to check and charge your AC. You're gonna need a set of gauges to do it right. Good set is over $100. If this is something you're prolly only going to do once, I would suggest sourcing the R12 yourself, then finding a place to check/charge your system.
