IIRC ... 1980+ 40s have a lower profile air cleaner which was done to accommodate the 60 hood

I have an 82 FJ40 at the shop right now. Will compare that housing to one from a 60 in a couple of hours when I'm at the shop.
It's 6.25am here .........
