Anybody have a good recommendation for an aftermarket suspension to replace the semi-active stuff used for '99 LX470 ?

Have no problems yet with it (at 90k miles), but have read of the high cost of parts to repair when the hydraulics go bad. (> $2k ?)

If faced with $2000 in parts to repair, I might just consider $900 in parts to change to conventional (non- semi-active) setup, instead.

Any suggestions appreciated.

TIA.

A recent thread mentioned that there have been few/no failures of that system, so hopefully you won't have to worry about it :) .

On the LX's suspension, the most common part to fail is the Damping Force Actuators. They can often be refilled for about $175/ea or replaced for less than $500/ea. There are 4 total and not all of them should fail at the same time.

If you choose to replace the entire suspension set-up, many owners have gone with Old Man Emu with great results.
