As some of you know, I've purchased a new toy:bounce:

Ok so not a new yota but I ordered an Aeroquad a little over a month ago and received it this week - sorry about the delay in processing the HITR photos but I've been distracted;)

Not only will it be a fun project and RC to fly but I plan to use it for aerial video of my adventures. This is an open source multicopter that seems to have a great following with good support and new products added often.

Below is an excellent example of what can be done and best of all it has cruiser content. At the beginning of the video you will see they are using FPV (first person view) and is actually flying the copter from the on board camera. I'm not there yet but this is the goal. Today I got the motors running and the gyro, accelerometer, and Magnetometer calibrated. Just waiting for the controller and battery pack to come in.

Turns out I have a 2nd reason for taking the Amateur Radio Technicians Class exam...900MHz, 800mW FPV gear:hhmm:

Just one more reason and I might just have to go through with it:flipoff2:

Verrry Cool, Steve!
That thing obviously has high-altitude (high density altitude) performance capability.
What exactly are you planning on doing with it?

Geeking out...Video many, I grew up building RCs and ever since I got the gopro I've been drooling over the multicopters. No thanks to "Planet Earth" for those killer aerial shots lol

Holy cow, that thing can really extend the range for peeping Toms!!!!

Ahem, on a serious note, should be a good tool for Search & Rescue operations.

Very cool quadrotor. I know the FCC has been working on regs for these for civilian use. You know anything about them? Still 500'ceiling?

Haven't got that deep into it yet:confused: But i don't think so I've seen youtube footage of quadcopters flying what appears to be 1 mile+ high
