Advice wanted: Struggling to find a decent '06-'10 LC or LX (1 Viewer)

Just wondering if anyone has advice on finding a decent LC or LX from these years (mostly trying to get the 100 with improved engine and rear airbags or more affordable 200) in the VA area. I have watched the for sale thread here since last summer, as well as scouring Craigslist, Autotrader, Cargurus etc. Seems tough to find one that doesnt have rust problems, accidents, or modified. If they pop up they don't last long, or are across the country and would have to buy sight unseen. Dealerships listing at the online sites often will text undercarriage pics or more info but almost always seem in rough condition.

I see these on the road everwhere, and wish there was an easy way to find private party sales other than generic wanted ads on here or CL.

All I can say is be patient and persistent. It was two years before I found mine, it probably won't take you that long, I was very picky. I have helped a few people find them and it has generally taken 3-6 mos. Keep a close eye on craigslist and facebook marketplace since that is where most private sales will be. Also check out carlotz.com it is a consignment used car dealer started in Richmond and dealerships in NC and VA now. I got mine there. They don't show up there often but they will be priced right when they do. Figure out what price your willing to pay , a good one will go fast and you might miss the opportunity if you haggle or have to mull it over too much. Also careful with an impulse buy on one that's fair but not quite as good as you would like. I have seen people do that and regret it. If your willing to pay a little more and take one with a few more miles you should find a decent low rust 100 before long.

that's a good question, I usually just ask for tons of pictures prior to heading out (especially under carriage) and then inspect on site myself. I did have someone on here ask if anyone could take a look at something for him for a few bucks. I had already looked at the vehicle so gave him my opinion right then. You might get lucky asking if anyone has seen it or might take a look for you.
