I’ve found a 2009 LX570 (costa azula mica/cashmere) with 79,800 miles on it for $29,800 at a Honda dealership. I’ve owned two 80 and two 100 series including a LX470, a GX470, and an FJ, but not a LX570. I’m waiting for undercarriage pics on this one, but the CARFAX and service history look good. The vehicle looks very clean too - likely never driven off road - only on the highway / around town / in neighborhoods. If all checks out, I’m thinking an accepted $27,500 offer would make for a good deal. Any thoughts on price from current / previous LX570 owners including things to look for? Thanks in advance.

Sound like a good price. LX570 will have AHC suspension and cannot be replaced with a traditional suspension for lifting, etc. There were a few pricey options on these vehicles that can add value, Luxury Package, Mark Levinson Reference stereo, rear entertainment, radar cruise control. The issues are the same as the LC, cam tower oil leaks, valley plate coolant leak.

I personally think that's a solid price even at $29,800. $27.5k would certainly sweeten the deal. If the vehicle checks out, I would not want to lose the car over $2k. If they don't come down to your price, you can try other things like new floor mats, car detail, update NAV system, etc.

Most come loaded with the exception of rear entertainment, radar cruiser, and remote start.

I hope you get her. That's a hell of a value and incredible amount of car for that price.

Thank you both for your helpful replies. It’s been on the lot since late November. They originally had it at $32,800 or so. I agree it is a good deal. On the less expensive end of the price spectrum, I found a dealer-located white/tan ‘08 GX470 with 134k miles with all work done for $14,400. I’m leaning towards the LX570 though. Hoping the undercarriage pics look good and will ask about update NAV, mats, ensure tires are new and a preferred brand, etc.

Here are the undercarriage pics I just received. This LX was in PA for its first 30k miles (with regular Lexus dealership service per the rec intervals). The rest of its life has been in KY/TN. Thoughts?

Seems like a deal to me. I just paid $34k for an '08 LC with 70000 miles on it.

Blue generally is less desirable than the more conservative colors in the LX which is probably why it hasn't sold yet. Also keep in mind a Honda dealer isn't going to have the slightest idea what to look for if you ask them to look at things like a cam tower leak or anything AHC related.

Good points re blue and them not knowing what to look for. I had considered the former as I too was not sure re blue - not because I don’t like it, but because I like grey/gold/silver/white in a LX.

Make sure to have them confirm the recirc damper still works properly.

If you like the blue, buy it.

Well, I offered $27,500. They would add a $299 dealer fee (frown) and $60 doc filing fee plus my sales tax. The response was the expected, “We don’t lose deals over a few hundred dollars, but we likely don’t have room to come down that far.” So, I upped to $28k + fees / taxes as my best offer and asked them to let me know if they would do it. Thanks for all the great info / help and I’ll post when a decision is made.

Buy it. Ignore all the comments on the thread about the cam tower leak. It didn't happen on the 08-09 models.

There is a starter failure problem at about 100k. IMHO, it's not a problem worth dealing with in your driveway. Put some money away; it's about $300.

Hi can you please explain I thought all the years had the dreaded valley plate coolant leak and oil leak from cam tower and also there was one reported here with rear main seal leak, although that was a 2010-2011 model. Was something changed between 2008-2009 to the 2010 models. Thanks for the help.
