I keep seeing people talk about warping, but I’ve had WTs in five vehicles so far and not a single one has had that issue. They get a slick spot under the right foot heel in manual transmission cars, but otherwise I haven’t been able to wear any out. Not even close. Seems that’s an advantage to the harder/crappier plastic.

The one mildly annoying thing is the texture holding dirt so getting them truly showroom-new clean involves some scrubbing.

I formed a dead pedal cover out of plastic sheet using a heat gun, and retained it with Velcro and now my WTs are the perfect mat.

IMO the HE rear mat is better than the Aussie part. Higher edges to prevent things spilling.. but still no iPhone-ish notches for the outer third row seat legs.

I've had no issues with my WT's. The edges may roll inward a little in high contact areas and the glue on the nameplates might melt in 100+ temps, but other than that been pretty solid. I have seen some fitament concerns in some of the threads which concerns me, but not sure what that means. The ones i have in the runner fit perfectly.

My husky’s are softer, cheaper, and provide more coverage. However, they are hard to remove.

Where do they provide more coverage? I've looked at some installed photos and threads, seems they cover the left foot rest better, but the inside side is lower. I've already spent way to much time trying to decide between these and the WT. Materials and what I mention above seem to be the only real difference, and the spikes on the bottom of the husky's. Is there more?

IMO second row coverage is better. Front row covers the dead pedal. I did a bunch of research when I bought the truck 2 years ago. IMO you really can’t go wrong with either.

I will again stresa that they can be a bitch to remove, and all the sand and dirt will usually fall off the mat and end up in the carpet.

Thanks for the photos! I'll take a closer look at the WT second row photos and compare to these.

I have WTs and will say that Husky second row coverage is indeed better. Specifically the raised dyke to keep fluids from just running off into the door jamb.. My WT doesn't have anything like that.

Nice, I can see exactly what you describe from the photo above and in the photo on the WT site!
So, as others have done, looks like I'm leaning toward WT up front and Husky in the 2nd row. Would be nice if WT black and Husky black are the same color.

WeatherTechs are the most over-hyped, over-advertised pieces of s*** offered. Their mats are a joke. OEM all weather or Husky.

And yet they work great for many here on this board.. just like 0w-20 oil.

Meh. Disagree. Their trunk mat went in the garbage because it slides everywhere. The front row mats collect water which conveniently drains into the door sill during acceleration. This causes rust to form on the door sill. Happened in my wife’s LX. **** em.

What mats/liners are you using?

The newer OEM all weather may quality and fit cannot be beat.

But they look like they would hold much less water and with no side protection, which is important to me. Here in SC there wont be any melting snow on the mats, only when travel up north in winter. And I usually knock the snow off my boots on the tires or running boards before getting in the truck. Appreciate your opinion though, thanks!

Thanks for all of the advice everyone! So far truck is great! Rides a good bit different than the 4runner, more body roll and looser steering. Steering wheel is also a lot less grippy. Might just be until the dealers detailing stuff wears off. A lot more touch screen interactions vs manual knobs, particularly for the climate controls. The ride is much smoother and really like the adaptive cruise control, and V8 power!

Been weeding through the floor liner threads, lots of different opinions, surprised to see a lot of people using different liners for front, middle, 3rd and rear. Mine came with the OEM rear mat and carpet mats up front/middle. Going to stick with rear mat for a while then maybe go the australian route. Leaning toward husky for front and 2nd. Have weathertechs in the 4runner and they have been fine, but sounds like not as good of a fit in LC? The maxpider don't look bad, but seems like need some more time/reviews. Thanks again for all the input during my search!
I am a big Weathertech guy.
The rain guards are made in Germany but are also a must-have for me on all my vehicles.

I have never had the Husky brand so can't comment.

The Husky are better in my opinion, you can't convince me otherwise as I've owned multiples of sets from both companies. @jivewalker it seems like you want to like the WT's more so buy them and be done with it, at the end of the day they are just mats and not extremely expensive should you change your mind and decide to offload them in the future.

Ha! I actually ordered the husky for the middle row earlier from Amazon, free returns if I think it sucks. Still not decided, and OEM all weather mats are back on the table. I have analysis paralysis on everything I buy, nothing unusual here.

Lots of fans for the OEM all weathers but I've never actually seen any in person so I can't comment on them.

Do you have a prt number for the newer vs the older? Not sure I know which is the newer ones.

I didn't think the OE mats had significantly raised edges at all. Yeah a small ridge but nothing like the coverage to contain dirt of WT or Husky. If they changed this design for the better I can't find pictures of it online for a landcruiser.
