Just in case I decide to sell them.

I'm torn between light expedition exploring, and full on Ultimate Adventure (I *may* have submitted my app for 2012 Ultimate Adventure).
If you get selected for this, keeping it clean is out the door. It is a blast, but you have to be prepared to sacrifice your truck. You pretty much go where the leader goes, no matter the outcome. We did the UA twice and I can assure you the Toyota axles did not fare so well.
You don't want to be this guy halfway through the event.

and this was the 2nd time we had to replace the front ring and pinion on the event. That was also not a stock 80 front, but a 80 rear diff that is larger.
Bigger axles if you want to do the UA is in order.

I wasn't aware the 80 axles were thought of as small or not sturdy. In fact I thought it was the opposite. What is the negative commentary referring to when discussing taking the 80 on UA?
Just got the phone call... I'm in the final 12 to be picked for Ultimate Adventure!
