So Cal TLCA’s Big Bear Adopt-A-Trail (AAT) work day is this Saturday, December 11th. Our plan is to survey the trails and do minor remediation to prepare our trails for the winter rain/snow (clearing drainage culverts, etc…).

We will meet at the parking area in front of the Fawnskin fire station at 8:00 am. Please wear a long sleeved shirt, long pants, and closed toe shoes, and bring the following:
  • work gloves
  • water,
  • a shovel and/or hoe, if you have them,
  • lunch,
  • and camp chair to have a group lunch on the trail.
We will work on the trails in the morning and plan to stop at lunch time. After lunch we can decide how we want to spend the rest of the day. If you haven’t been on a work day yet, it is a lot of fun and good to give back to the forest that we enjoy playing in.

If you need additional information or directions to Fawnskin, please let Jim or Kim know. Jim’s cell phone is 714-262-0273 and Kim’s is 714-262-0270. Also, if you're planning to attend, will you please check-in on this thread to let Jim & Kim know whom to expect?

It will be sunny but very cold in Big Bear tomorrow. Bring warm clothing.

Here are a few pictures I took at our Adopt-a-Trail (AAT) workday. I had a great time enjoying the outdoors while giving back to the community.
