Sweet, I never knew about cruiser tech!
If you are desmogged, like I once was, the OEM drivers side battery tray set up makes for a real nice job. The hold down J bolt even has a bracket to hold the radiator overflow bottle.
Before you add a second battery you need to work out what you want to use it for, this will change the setup you should use.
If you just want it for a back up I have seen people who just carry a jump pack in the back with it plugged into a second 12V socket they installed, seems to be a pretty good & cheap and easy option.

If you are desmogged you can run a second alt in place of your smog pump. I have 2 independent systems. The factory set up runs all things factory and the second battery and alt run everything that I have added to the truck
