I decided to see if I could polish the gas cap on my ‘72 FJ40. Here is the result…….

Chairman MO & CHINA can't be polished

but OEM japan , with my Nickle Retainer Chains period correct i add to the factory pre-punched keeper under the cap sure can ....

i knew the moment i posted that 1967 Paper parts Cataloger Nomenclature Diagram ,

i would get 2 questions :

- the metal screen topic '

- and

- the TEq LOGO topic

- i have NEVER seen a TEq embossed Fuel cap first generation till i made a Trial-RUN batch , SKUNK-WORKS Prototypes a few years ago , 100% all METAL , minus the OEM rubber packing seal or gasket , and 100% ALL TOYOTA NON-USA japan spec. parts ....


i even field tested it via @HelloKitty65 / he can verify i have this ..........and did just that


- the reason i did not presure a larger production run a more then a few i won't bore you with john , i can PM TEXT you all that JDM / JIS Jazz....

TEQ cap were standard on the FJ25. Locking gas cap was optional. Original FJ40 shared the same gas caps. Still have a NOS cap for the FJ25.

Yes it is much larger than the FJ40 after it changed, 62? What is interesting the FJ25 hard top the fill elbow is necked down to the same size as later FJ40.
