Hey guys,
Just wondering if you have any suggestions for this...

I own a '98 TLC with 90k miles. No suspension mods. I just added 285x75x16s REVOs. They look great but they just barely rub the bumper as I turn the wheels and with small dips on the road they hit... and that makes me think this could be a real issue out on the trails.

Did I go with the wrong size? or is there a simple adjustment that can be made to help fit the tires in the front?
Crank the torsion bars but how will this affect ride?
Replace suspension components?

thanks for your input.

Raise the front of your rig off the ground (on jack stands of course) and adjust your Torsion Bars (LC right?) so that they lift the front a little (search for many threads on how to do this). Before my 2" lift I ran my 285/75 R16 MTR's on mine with zero interference. It sounds like your front end might be sagging a little.

How about trimming the bumper ever so slightly. Are you sure it's rubbing the bumper and not the opposite/firewall side? If it is actually the firewall side, you can adjust your turn stops.

Are you running OEM wheels? Most oftermarket wheels have different offset and that might contribute to the rubbing. OEM are offset +60, Most after market have +35 offset.

You shouldn't need to trim anything. 295x75-16 fit without issue.

I suspect T-bar sag and overall suspension (shocks) wear. For now you can re-adjust your T-bars. Add 1/2" height and it should work. :)

Is there an echo in hear?
(spelling pun intended :D )

Forgetting t-Bar sag and shock wear(which should have no bearing on it) I thought that 285/75/16 would fit without any rubbing, it doesn't matter what state your suspension is in as I thought they would not rub at full compression or extension either turned in or out? If suspension has to be adjusted, it doesn't do anything as they will still rub under compression, the only difference is that it will be harder to compress. Yes the turn stops may have to be adjusted, but suspension should not have any bearing. As mentioned by Augie earlier, maybe the rims have the incorrect offset?

Only if you have aftermarket rims would this be a concern.

I have the same tires on my stock suspension truck. No problems.
I've taken it on trails with no issues too.

Thanks Guys,
To clarify, I do have aftermarket wheels that probably have a different offset. I am not sure how that will contribute to rubbing the fender.

I will try the T-bar trick. I don't even have a lift so I will end up paying someone to do it but such is life I guess. I will post soon b/c I am pretty excited about how the truck looks. I have to say that I prefer the ride on the Michelins but the aggressive stance is hard to give up.

I am looking for hobbyists in the Salt Lake area so let me know.

Which wheels are you using? Perhaps we can add them to our short list of aftermarket wheels for the 100 series. To cure your bumper rubbing problem, you can either trim the plastic or get an aftermarket bumper.

Yes. Lift won't help the offset wheel deal.

I’m running a Diablo wheel on my rig. Not sure of the offset, but it appears to stick out on the sides a little.

I don't know what type of wheel they are to be honest. I bought them used. They are 16x8 chrome.
