Does anyone have an adapter from the front output of the split case off a FJ40 to the front driveshaft off a '78? The patterns are different.
 
could you just get the top part of the slip yoke, u joint and flange and mate it to your lower driveshaft??
 
Turn it a few degrees and redrill it.
