Bad day got worse. Solved a no start problem with a new coil. Put it in gear and pushed on the pedal, and broke the cable.
Mine was attached to the pedal slot with a barrel clamp. I never was comfortable with that, worried that the cable would work its way out.
But there's no supplier for a cable with a lead "barrel" on the end.
So, I got a bicycle cable with a small round lead end, drilled the backside of the barrel clamp to fit it...

Good on you, now you are better off than having the lead slug molded onto the end of the wire. Problem with the lead slug is it does not spin or rotate with wire movement, sooooo it's trying to bend/break the wire every time you use the gas pedal.
 
Nice fix, same thing happened to me on the trail once. Luckily I was able to temporarily repair it enough to get home. Been using a fancy lawn mower cable ever since with no issues. 👍
