Need some help with this. In 2000 LX AC works only when it's on MAX COLD. Otherwise blows hot air.

I for some reason think it might be inside temp sensor, but not sure. My first idea was to see what sensor reads in Techstream but couldn't find anything like that.
I can only see if AC compressor ON/OFF in techstream and seems like compressor operating with AC in ON position, but it blows HOT if temperature is anything but COLD.

Also, windshield defrost/defog button doesn't do anything when pressed. No blowing and no light indication.

Appreciate any help with those..

EDIT:

Good new and bad news. I pulled panel to check temp sensor and sure enough it's disconnected.
So, this is good news. And I think that would fix it except for the defrost button.

However, bad news is:
1. Can't locate connector. May need to disassemble more, do you know where it coming from? Center console side or steering column side?
2. Why and why were there...

Hi Katie,
I am Chasing the same issue. Did you ever find that connector and did it fix the issue once you connected it?

There should be a hard ribbed plastic hose (mine was white, 99LC) that connects to the temp sensor, and an electrical connector that plugs into the sensor as well.
I would look up around the ignition, and over kinda behind the climate control areas for them. Might be tucked up outta the way by someone who was in there last?
