Looking for recommendations for AC specialist to check my 2004 LX470. If I load up it works for a day or two - so suspect a leak. Also if any of you know typically where to look first, based on experience, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Rising Sun on S. Lamar. Good for all things Toyota/Lexus.

There's a guy up north that's pretty good. @bottombracket can you post Mehdi's info?

Thanks Dave et al.

my LX470's AC sucks as well.

I've tracked a leak down with the UV light to the condenser in the front. Leaking through the coupling to the condenser as well as a hole in the condenser. I would try there first. Condenser is just about as cheap as an AC refil with oils etc.

I'm going to replace mine and HOPE it's not the expansion valves being clogged or the compressor, as that would be very costly. Not seeing leaks in those areas.

After refill mine works on the highway and the Rear maybe 10 degrees. I'm avoiding shops as I can't imagine the cost replacing those due to the time it would take to take everything apart.

Replacing the condenser and dryer isn't all that bad. You can get the DENSO parts relatively cheap, too.

oooh, never thought about a clogged up dryer. good idea.

Not south at all, but land cruiser specialists will do it right. I would call to see when’s a good time to bring it in.

Is Mr. Freeze still around? He was supposed to be really good and inexpensive... Here is a post below from @davegonz back in '08

If you want a cheap alternative, try Mr. Freeze (David Peacock) at 512-358-1385

Yeah, forgot about that guy.

Thank you appreciate the responses.

Mr Freeze replaced the condenser on my old 60 years ago. He did a good job and was affordable, but I had no luck tracking him down a few years back on a different vehicle.

Medi knows his stuff and has experience with Cruisers. Both Lee @Sea Knight and Galen have used him. I've been enjoying his AC work in my HZJ80 that I bought from Galen. Blows cold as heck.
