Well, this is my first major issues with my LC. 2019. About 30k miles on odometer. Bought new.

Problem #1: the lights on AC panel buttons flickers on / off. Sometimes it can be off for the whole trip; sometimes it flickers on / off every few seconds. And whichever light is OFF, that button becomes non-functional. When it lights up, then i can use that button. When the AUTO light is OFF, i can’t do anything…like adjusting temperature via toggle. The CLIMATE button surprisingly works regardless of other buttons.

The AC motor itself is working as advertised. Cold air thru all vents.

Problem #2: my CD player has not worked since maybe 8k miles on odometer. I just never bothered to fix it until now (due to above issue) because i don’t use CD. But yeah, the CD player would just spin the disk (you hear the noise) but nothing. Cannot read the disc. Occasionally, it does work but that is far in between.

My LC has been at dealer. Dealer service manager is on vacation; thus cannot make decision. The lead tech has contacted Toyota…and apparently (per their words), they are befuddled by the issue. There is an apparent error code being thrown up BUT Toyota does not have a solution for it because they have not seen it before now.

So, right now, i am going to take my LC home while dealer and Toyota decide what to do next. Obviously, the whole unit is $$$$$…so, that is probably why they are taking their time on this.

Tell them you want a 2021 loaner till they diagnose and repair yours, tends to speed things up.

My DVD player in my 2016 does the same thing. Spins but won't recognize any disc. It happened after a trip to the dunes and I mistakenly left my sunroof open and covered my interior with fine sand. I assumed that caused my problem. I don't have the issue with the hvac lights however. I accessed the service menu on my head unit to check for codes but much like you the codes led me nowhere. If I had less than 30k miles on my truck I'd leave it at the dealership until it was fixed and call them every day. Good luck.

Ok. You guys are right. I will leave it at dealer.

I have an LX - but ill tell my story and hope it helps.

I spent over a month going back and forth the dealership. My AC controls would reboot randomly while driving. On the way back from FL it rebooted every 5-15 minutes for 10+ hours. It was a fast reboot, but the fan would turn off then right back on. The controls would turn off and then right back on. Other days it would take nearly an hour to start the reboot process. After several trips and lots of frustration the Lexus diagnostic guy and their tech support were stumped. The lexus tech support out of Chicago looked through all sorts of service records of every LX 2016 and newer and could not find a single case like mine. They ended up replacing the entire climate/CD player unit - an $8k part. No luck. The first time i brought it in the Diagnostic mechanic said it was the AC amplifier but was declined to replace by Lexus. Come to find out it was a $700 AC amplifier. I spent hours and around a thousand miles driving back and forth to the dealership for can't duplicate, taking the techs for drives, and other BS.

I filed a lexus complaint and after several months of hounding them they made a payment to me for lost time. Open up a case with Toyota ASAP.

I'll find the video and post it for reference. Maybe it's a shared part and worth looking into as the symptoms are very similar.

Please post your video. Your issue seems somewhat related to mine except that my AC motor works fine…just the AC panel lights/functionality that seems to be broken. Unfortunately, it seems like i am heading down the same long road as you.

In my case the AC amplifier was not testing within the proper voltage range causing reboots or drops.

Update: dealer and Toyota will replace the whole unit. Will take about five days for new unit to arrive.

Update: picked up my LC yesterday. Brand new headunit. Works great.

I also now have 8 years / 125k Platiunum extended warranty just to make sure i am covered in future. :)
