I've seen several bearings listed in various threads for replacing the bearing in the AC idler pulley on my 1982 fj60

basically it boils down to a 6301 or a 6302, which are different sizes.(the rest were quality levels, like a c3 heat rating)

Can anyone tell me what years use the 6301 bearing and which use the 6302?

I ordered NACHI 6301-2NSE9 C3 Bearing, which is a good quality bearing, but I want to make sure I've got the right one.

Thanks

This is the exact replacement AC idler bearing used in the '86 FJ60. My guess is that the '82 used the same one.
When you remove it, it will have the bearing number on it.

Toyota never sold the bearing separately. They sold the pulley assembly as a unit. The AC idler pulley assembly has the same part number for all the land cruiser years - 1980 - 1987

Just noticed my pulley looks completely different

Ebay has a fj60 pulley from aus that looks similar, wonder if it's that...

For those who come after, if you have the small silver no groove idler wheel like I do ( 2F Motor), this is the part # you need
88440-20120,

runs just under $40 to replace the whole thing..

Be aware that most part places will tell you that you actually need to later idler pulley below. I do not knwo if they are interchangable, but because of the position difference, I suspect not.

Uses a 6302 series bearing, Don't get the cheap ones, I read they last like 50 miles on average.
There is a link to a good one on post #2 above

If you have the idler pulley that looks like a normal belt pulley (3F engine 85+), this is the part # you need

6301 series bearing, get a good one like NACHI 6301-2NSE9 C3 Bearing (C3 is the speed/heat rating, but there are cheap c3 bearings that don't last)

88440-20120 is for a Celica ... It may work, or be made to work, dunno, but it's not the one for a 2F.
