Saw this on the American Adventurist forum. I attended this last summer and it was a blast. Lots of great people in all kinds of vehicle. Here is the post info.
San diego chapter of AAV is meeting up along with NAXJA and EXPO on Aug. 23 1200 to ? on fiesta island. Anyone interested in starting a chapter stop by and see us. The purpose of the chapter is to promote local community, trip planning, support, and adventuring!

It would be great to have a large Toyota turn out.
