Assuming the "A44F" in your subject line is actually "A442F", yes I believe the A450 is similar (but not identical to) the A442F, and the A450 was used in the Isuzu NPR diesel trucks, among others. In the diesel section, they were trying to figure out a way to get an Isuzu 4HE1 diesel into an 80. theSherpa found that "4HE1 bellhousing will bolt to front of A440 case. A440 transfer case adapter will bolt to back of A450. Input and output shafts (length, spline count, diameter), torque converter (stall, size) and flexplate are all different between 4HE1's A450 and cruiser A440. Who knows how similar they are inside." Aisin is the largest transmission manufacturer in the world and they make trannies for many different manufacturers- for some years, the Jeep Cherokee had an Aisin Warner tranny behind it.

ASTR is working on getting the output shaft from the A440 into the AW450. That way you could throw the Isuzu 4HE1 into an 80. I really want to go that route. When I can... :)>
