Hi,

The ECT behind my 1HD-T is shot ... I can't find a replacement for it ... I am contemplating getting an ECT from a FZJ80 ... I am just not sure if the ECT's are compatible ... does anyone know?

Regards,

Tito

I would bet the shift points would be set to different rpms. You should try to swap in a junkyard gasoline model and try it. I was told in GM trucks diesel vs gas, the only difference is the torque convertor. it would be a plug and go quick trial.

uhuru- don't know the answer, but I know someone who does: Rodney over at Wholesale Automatic Transmissions in AU. He's a real expert with these trannies. You can contact him through their website, which is here: http://www.automatictransmission.com.au

I will give them a holler ... thanks!

Can someone please check the Toyota part # on their ECT ... the one on mine reads 89530-60170 ... it says in big letters 1HD-T ... that's why I belive it is different from the gasser version ...

I ran my 1HD-T A442 on the stock 1FZ-FE ECT computer briefly as I was wrapping up my swap last week, It worked fine, shifts just felt better when I plugged in the new 1HD ECT.

So it does work.
