Greetings to all,

1989 FJ62 2nd gear is out and have found someone to do the rebuild..only we need the parts. To make things easier I'm hoping some of you have had to unfortunately rebuild your A440F tranny and would like all of your guidance on finding parts. Looking for OEM as much as possible (if still available) or highest quality aftermarket. If you have some advice about the A440F or just the FJ62 in general please share.

Thanks!

Best bet would be to visit your local trans shop and see if they can order the kit for you or tell you where they get them. They can also check your torque converter and send it out for a rebuild if necessary...as well as tank the case once you have it apart. I recommend the master kit with steels and definitely replace or have the TC rebuilt.

Im pretty sure it was this guy, Strainer Throttle O, part number 35396-36010

Starting on page 26 or so, there is a bit of write up for my rebuild, you'll need a few tools such as a dial indicator that you'll need to fab up some extensions for out of stiff wire or paper clips and the tool shown.

Builds - Meet Phoenix

Compression tool picked up off amazon for about $15
