A way to find out original color? (1 Viewer)

Not that I would repaint the 40 if I knew, but when I bought mine…it was tan. Sold it and found it and it had been restored. Bought it back and it sits in my garage. Relearning the truck again and it occurred to me that I never knew the original color.

Is there a way find out what the original color was? The inspection plate is hard to read.

Look inside the glove box or up under the dash.
Based on the year, there are a list of possible colors.

The VIN plate under the hood is the one with the paint code. Not the one on the A-Pillar. Under the hood, it will be on the passenger side firewall or fender, under battery.

Why doesn’t it? In my research, I would say Cyngus white too.

- my opinion is the DATA ID Plate Engine Bay was LIGIT at one time and just faded from chemicals exposer of some kind wiping away the BLACK ocean going octopus ink sadly

Here is an example of the Trim plate in the engine bay - This is on the firewall in mine.

There is another thread with the interior (LE11) in the above plate - 11 is charcoal grey for interior - Can remember what the E is - L- leather -
