Well my first Cruiser is base lined now, so I suppose I should start a build thread as the fun mods begin.

After trading in my 15' Tundra Platinum my garage was without a Toyota for 2 years. Then I went down the Land Cruiser YouTube rabbit hole, which let me to google and finding Mud. After a five month long search I found a clean, low milage, triple locked black FZJ80. Only issue was it was located in Tucson AZ, and I was in Sacramento CA. So I sent the deposit and hopped on a plane. Two days later I was back home with my new rig.

History:

The rig was originally purchased in Tennessee where it stayed for two years until the owner was transferred to AZ for work. At this time he was given a company car, so the Cruiser saw less use than most. The original owner would have made Cruiser Dan proud, as it was exclusive dealer service with no expense spared during its first 20 years. With 134K, it was sold to the second owner in 2016.

The second owner purchased it for his wife for carpool duty, after seeing countless dropped goldfish and a new head gasket. I was able to purchase it in a divorce sale last October with 158k miles.

Nice rig and congrats! Looks like you have the OCD bug too! Haha.

Yes, its horrible lol. I wanted it to be as clean as possible. However not showroom OCD, as I want to actually use the rig.

Going through the same...I'll be posting a retroactive build thread soon, but I've undergone quite a transformation...but also excited to get my truck on some trails!!! I lived in Roseville for many years by the way! Great area. In LA now.

If I'm reading your thread correctly, you're running 37s on stock gears and stock suspension. What's acceleration like? Any rubbing when turning or when flexing the suspension?

Cheers

Nice stable mate - congrats on a super clean looking rig !

The 37’s were put on to test fit. I left them on for storage purposes until my Kings come in and the rig goes to Slee for the lift.
I had to take off the bumper corners and there is still rubbing on the fender flairs. My rig had decent power in stock form. Could be a factory freak, could be the newer head job. Either way these wheels and tires are significant heavier than stock, so I will be upgrading to 4.88’s.
