Not sure I agree Greg.

Seems as though this female likes my rig enough to be seen wheeling it as well as be seen with me...

:grinpimp:

Kickbutthighfivewoohoo! (yes, that's a word)

Is this from your recent trip to Moab?

I was gonna say ... can we get the door out of the way? :grinpimp:

Yes, from the recent trip to the Southern Utah area. Started in Valley of the Gods, then to Arch Canyon, then to the Manti-LaSal's west of Monticello, then down to Lockhart, then to Moab, to Durango, and back home--a great 5 day trip for Laura (lolo62 on MUD) and I.

At the Valley of the Gods, we were doing some bouldering and climbing up one of the rock sentinals and Laura was ahead of me and a large boulder let loose coming down on her foot and cutting it wide open--real bad. We got her down off the sentinal and broke down camp and raced her to the ER in Monticello (not knowing a new one had opened in Blanding).

After they stitched her up, I figured the trip was over....Nope--Laura is a hardcore trooper and we continued on our trip and headed down to the Comb Ridge area. We entered Arch Canyon and about 6 miles in a Suburban with a family of 5 from Provo had broken down with a rear-steer tie rod busted. It took about two hours to get the rig ready to be taken back out and then I drove in front while they coaxed their rig out--took about another two hours to get them out to the Rt. 95. At that point, it was too late to go back into Arch Canyon, so we camped at Comb Wash campground for the night.

Laura drives a built FJ62 and lives in Austin, TX.

Mike--you can see a few more pics here:

Laura might soon be a member of the HDC....stay tuned.

I'd like to pass along this book to another Mud member so let me know if you want to read it.

Who needs a road?

Thanks.

Jon it was an epic trip in the truest sense of the word. One of the best I've had.

And yeah, Laura's on MUD. Hopefully, we'll both make a future meeting here.
;)

How does when my 40 and school come up it already goes to chasing girls? I thought we were talking about a book. According to Rudy I need to read this book to be the best 40 owner, who get all the girls.
you guys can't seriously be flattered by girls who think you drive jeeps...

It's not possible to get enough of southern Utah. I was just there, and can't wait to go back in four weeks. I bought Who Needs a Road? awhile back but haven't opened it yet. I think this trip I'll pack it.

I'm old and desperate. I'll take all the flattering I can get. :grinpimp:

So much to say! Like Paul said "I thought this was about a book". Another tread derailed.

IIRC, the book was featured in Toyota Trails a few years ago, or at least the story was.

For the record, I've had little attention from the opposite sex with Da'40. Some but not much. Yesterday, my next door neighbor stopped to talk on her dog walk. Historically, she has had little interest in the project (annoyed?). She went out of her way not only to compliment the truck, but talk. Prior to that only her husband was sociable. I didn't know her name until a month ago.

OTOH, the guys at work have been all over it.

I hope you are not thinking about hitting on the neighbor's wife because your old ass got some attention from Da' 40. Find the younger ones (disclaimer: I have no idea how old she is). Who cares about the guys unless, they want to help you fix the rig up more :flipoff2:

So true...who needs a road. And off-topic again.

And, Ali, you would not want to lend me the book, I take forever to read a book!

Floating the San Juan between Bluff and Mexican Hat last week. Comb Ridge in background.

OK John... you know you can't drop that out here and not get badgered for more information. Pics of the trip at a minimum. :D

I agree with Mikey. Let's see 'em.

Yeah Juane, that was a shameless tease (even though I already know some of the details :p )

I thought this was old news.

Not necessarily old news, but a response to an old part of this thread. Sorry. I don't keep up with this stuff as fanatically as you guys.

Also, sorry, no pics of Debra. I will say that in addition to her first experience off road her two young sons both got a driving lesson.
